Mount Rainier looms over the Seattle horizon, looking as if the peak was close enough to touch, even though the national park is a two hour drive away. Mount Rainier National Park warrants a visit of a few days, but if you are short on time, then it can easily be visited as a day trip from the Seattle area. Like its neighbor to the southwest, Mount St Helens, Mount Rainier is also categorised as an active volcano. At 14,410 feet it is the tallest peak in the northwest’s Cascade mountain range, which also lays claim to having the largest glacier in the lower 48 states. On the Trail of Dale Chihuly in Tacoma, Washington
Take a day to explore the works of Dale Chihuly in Tacoma on the Chihuly Glass Walking Tour and you wont be disappointed.
Most visitors to Seattle, Washington, who want to see works by master glass artist Dale Chihuly would most likely visit the Chihuly Gardens at the base of the Space Needle. But just 30 minutes to the south in Tacoma, Washington, you can also see a diverse series of his permanent art glass installations set in a variety of very distinct environments.
