Reflections from 2023

My annual recap after an incredible year of travel all over the globe.

“….changes in latitude, changes in attitude….”

This was certainly a year for the record books for me as I travelled across latitudes from the Antarctic all the way up to the Arctic. I can’t believe how many bucket list trips I was fortunate to indulge in. I have become very spoiled by all my travels this year, and I am very appreciative of the many opportunities I’ve had to see so many special places around the world.

Reflections From 2022

My annual review in words and photos from an incredible year of travel.

Wow! I have been so very fortunate to have had the most incredibly memorable year for travel! And what a difference 12 months can make!

It’s taken me a while to write this up as it was a very, very busy year, but I am continuing my annual end of the year post tradition by reflecting on where I’ve been in 2022 – and sharing some of my reflection photos in the process.

Reflections from 2020

Each year since I started this blog, I have ended the year with a reflections post. Even though 2020 was quite uneventful, I thought I would keep up the tradition.

This photo was recognized by the North American Travel Journalists Association with a Bronze award in the Photography – Landscape, Seascape category in the 2021 annual media travel awards competition .

I have used these “Reflections” posts as a play on words to reminisce about my travels over the past year and to share the reflections photos to which I am drawn.

Photo Location – Chicago skyline at dusk.

Home is where the heart is. I grew up in Chicago and though I have been away now for over 25 years, it still feels like home every time I go back. At the same time, our current house, where we have lived for the past 25 years, is just as much my home. For the first time in many years, we are not traveling over Thanksgiving. We are staying at home and staying safe and that is something I am quite thankful for at this time. What are you thankful for today?

Stay safe and thanks for visiting.

Oh My! There is So Much To Do On a Chicago 4 Day Itinerary

I grew up in Chicago and still visit frequently and after traveling the world, it still remains my favorite city. Here is a list of my 25 top things to do on a Chicago 4 day itinerary (though I suggest spending more time in my favorite city if you can).

Frank Sinatra said it best when he sang “My Kind of town Chicago is”. If you are planning a first trip to the “Windy City”, there are a wide range of sights and things to do in Chicago for all interests. Here is my list of top 25 Chicago attractions in my favorite city.

Photo Location – Women’s Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC.

This is my favorite memorial around the Washington DC Tidal Basin. It touches me as a woman and a mother like no other sculpture does. Let’s not forget the many women and nurses that should also be remembered and celebrated on this Veteran’s Day.

Thanks for visiting.
