Quilt Inspiration – Here in the Brandywine Valley, I am surrounded by some of the county’s most beautiful public gardens. With this quilt I am celebrating the lazy hot days of late summer when the flowers are at their peak bloom.
I used Kaffe Fasset flowery fabrics in contrasting shades of pink and yellow in an easy half square triangle pattern.
For the back, I used left over blocks and fabric strips to make an interesting striped pattern. You can read about this technique and others that I use to make my backs as interesting as the front on my post Ideas for Unique Pieced backing for Quilts .
The quilt was quilted by Cindy Carey of North Star Longarm Quilting.
I photographed the quilt at Longwood Gardens among some of the many beautiful flower displays.
Thanks for visiting.
