Quilt Inspiration – I love all the beautiful traditional Turkish Iznik tiles that can be seen in the historic sites in Istanbul like the Blue Mosque and Topkai Palace. I wanted to make a quilt inspired by all those colorful tiles that I admire so much.

Please note – the Tokyo International Quilt show is no longer being produced as it was before the pandemic. I am keeping this post for those that are curious about what the show was like when it was running.
It is the largest quilt show in the world. Hundreds of exquisitely crafted quilts made by Japanese artists, any one of which would take home a blue ribbon in a major US quilt show. Visit the Tokyo Quilt Festival at the end of January to see the masterpieces of Japan’s best textile artists on display. Even as a non-quilter you will marvel at the detailed and delicate craftsmanship.

Quilt Inspiration – My inspiration for this quilt was the golden color of the aspen leaves in the fall and the white and gray of the aspen tree trunks.

One of my goals for this year has been to take quilting classes from some of the best instructors in the industry so that I could learn from various experienced quilt artists and get exposed to diverse teaching styles and techniques. I was thrilled to discover Crafty Retreats in central France and a class with Sheena Norquay, one of the UK’s top free motion quilting instructors. My Bohemian Princess Quilt pattern is a very easy and whimsical design that uses precut 5 inch charm packs cut into half square triangles. This easy pattern is fit for any little princess or prince and is available on my Etsy shop.
Quilt Inspiration – The fabric colors for the front of this bohemian quilt pattern was inspired by the colorful houses in the towns and villages along Germany’s Romantic Road. I used various whimsical Tula Pink quilt fabrics which I felt captured the storybook bohemian feel of the area.
